Welcome to Information Uncover. We monitor and analyze a client’s external business environment to uncover early signs of future opportunities and threats associated with the weight loss or bariatric industry. We do this by continually reviewing publications related to the bariatric industry. And we also discuss industry related topics with bariatric industry experts. These activities allows us to learn about research, issues, and new methods associated with weight loss and weight control. We assess our findings to uncover strategic impact. The activities we engage in are included in a set of activities commonly called environmental scanning and analysis. And environmental scanning and analysis is an important part of strategic management.

A portion of what we do is similar to what a press-clipping service provider might do. However, we focus on one industry -- the bariatric industry. We have knowledge of the bariatric industry (please review our blog posts). Therefore, instead of providing you with article "clips" that you MIGHT be interested in, we provide you with targeted article excerpts that you are LIKELY to be interested in. Further, instead of just giving you the information, we give you some analysis of the information. (By the way, here is where you can get some idea of how we and others view "analysis.")

Environmental scanning and analysis is especially useful for detecting environmental events that can enable an organization to quickly respond to changing industry environmental conditions. As implied above, our scanning is associated with the health care industry, with an emphasis on the bariatric or medical weight loss sub-industry.

We provide ongoing periodic environmental scanning results and strategic insights, based on our analysis of industry-related environmental information. The environmental scanning results and strategic insights are of particular importance in SWOT analysis, where an organization's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are measured.

High quality environmental scanning of information can greatly improve an organization's chances of meeting its strategic goals. Here is how we do what we do:

We use in-house developed text mining methods to help us perform targeted scanning.

We analyze industry information. The information is taken from newspapers, weight loss or bariatric industry publications, wire services, and other sources.
